AUDIOVISUAL MARKET AND REGULATION: AN INDUSTRY AT A CROSSROADS

The International Conference on “AUDIOVISUAL MARKET AND REGULATION: AN INDUSTRY AT A CROSSROADS” will be held on October 23rd-24th 2014 at Teatro Studio Gianni Borgna, in Rome.  The Conference is an event hosted by the Italian Presidency of the Council of the European Union and organised by the Directorate-General for Cinema of the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism. Delegates of EU Member Countries with a remarkable expertise in cinema and audiovisual sector will join the debate.   The Conference is aimed at encouraging a wide debate on relevant issues, with reference to European and International audiovisual industry, with the ultimate purpose of sharing and comparing Member Countries positions, in order to achieve an update of EU regulatory framework.  The final outcomes of the Conference will be collected in a report, to be submitted to the formal EYCS Council, Education, Youth, Culture and Sport Ministers of the European Union, to be held on 25 November 2014 in Brussels.

            The Conference will be composed of three working sessions, to be held on October 23rd  and 24th:
  • Thursday, October 23rd 2014.
  • Morning session (10.00-13.00): NEW BUSINESS MODELS IN A CHANGING AUDIOVISUAL MARKET
    • Afternoon/evening session (14.00-18.00): PUBLIC SUPPORT AND REGULATION FRAMEWORK
    • Friday, October 24th 2014.

 

  • Morning session (10.00-13.00): FOLLOW-UP AND OPEN DEBATE

 

On October 23rd the main stakeholders of the sector will provide their contribution, both at an international level and concerning market and regulations. Panels scheduled on October 24th will focus on the discussion among Member Countries, with reference to the outcomes of the previous day.
