ITALY AT BERLINALE 2022

At the 72nd edition of the Berlin Film Festival, Italy participates with five movies: Leonora addio by Paolo Taviani, In Competition; Black glasses by Dario Argento, Special Gala; A Female by Francesco Costabile, in the Panorama Section; Swing Ride by Chiara Bellosi, Panorama Section and In my name by Nicolò Bassetti, Panorama Documentaries Section.

We also find Lorenzo Tardella’s Dependent Variables, in the Generation Kplus section, which questions intimacy through the story of two very young people, Pietro and Tommaso, who meet in a theater box and on the notes of Vivaldi find themselves kissing. In Berlinale Series there is Truly, Madly, Deeply by Carlo Sironi. The Centro Sperimentale of Cinematografia Cineteca Nazionale brings the restoration of Mamma Roma by Pier Paolo Pasolini. Finally, in competition there is also the co-production between Spain and Italy Alcarras by Carla Simon produced by Avalon with Kino Produzioni.
