FRONTLAB: CALL FOR PROJECT

FRONTLAB ((Aosta 6th – 8th November 2017))is a training course intended for European filmmakers and producers who are developing a creative documentary project and are seeking partnerships and funds to bring it to life.

The course is organized as part of FRONTDOC by APA (Association of Audiovisual Professionals of the Aosta Valley) and by Film Commission Vallée d’Aoste, in collaboration with STEFILM IINTERNATIONAL, one of the major Italian companies in producing documentaries.

The lab represent a chance to learn how to develop and present your projects effectively and, at the same time, an opportunity for meeting and dialogue with potentially interested parties to support your production.

FRONTLAB allows you to broaden your knowledge of the market, its production and distribution process, also under the new social media forms.

FRONTLAB takes place over three days and accepts participants either with or without a project.

The last workshop session will be devoted to the final presentation and discussion of the single projects in front of a group of international experts. Moments of networking with producers/distributors from Italy, France and Switzerland are included in the schedule.

The best project selected at the end of the training course will be awarded a prize of €1500 to support the development of the film.

The project must be in line with the themes dealt with by FRONTDOC: “works that explore the theme of boundaries (geographical, political, cultural and social) or narrative forms that lie on the boundary between documentary or other forms of expression (from video experimentation to web documentary, from video art to animation)”

FRONTLAB takes place in the city of Aosta, in an area on the border between Italy, France and Switzerland, a crossroads of cultures and experiences in the heart of Europe.

Tutors: Edoardo Fracchia e Stefano Tealdi.

DEADLINE: October, 20th 2017
