Cinema Italian Style fetes its 13th edition in Los Angeles with a focus on the best in Italian movies and a celebration of Italian cuisine. On opening night Thursday, the festival showcases Italy’s Oscar entry “A Ciambra” with a Q&A with writer-director Jonas Carpignano.
Luce Cinecitta is partnering with guest chef Leandro Luppi for an opening night dinner at Mr. C in Beverly Hills. Chef Luppi is the owner of Michelin-starred Vecchia Malcesni on Lake Garda.
Ten titles will screen at the Aero Theater in Santa Monica from Friday to Tuesday, including “Fortunata,” with star Jasmine Trinca attending; Gianni Amelio’s “Holding Hands,” Andrea De Sica’s “Children of the Night,” and Roberto De Paolis’ “Pure Hearts.”
Also screening are “Emma,” “Love and Bullets,” “Slam,” based on the novel by Nick Hornby, “Let Yourself Go,” “Friends By Chance” and “It’s the Law.”
