The Italian Film Boutique initiative offered a selected showcase of top Italian productions to buyers, distributors, network managers and sales managers from all over the world.
Coming to a close today, the 9th edition of The Business Street, Rome IFF’s film market, has hosted for the first time Italian Film Boutique (IFB), created by Movie UP in partnership with Ass.For.SEO and Roma Lazio Film Commission.
The Italian Film Boutique is a strategic platform aiming at launching new Italian films on the market and fostering the “Italian touch” in the international film market, and its concept is to offer a selected showcase of top Italian productions to buyers, distributors, network managers and sales managers from all over the world.
IFB has presented in Rome 20 titles, chosen from the most recent feature films produced, filmed or sold by operators of Lazio Region. Twenty industry professionals (buyers, distributors, network directors, and sales agents) from France, UK, USA, Japan, Sweden and Russia, far from the Roman festival for many years, have been invited to discover the new Italian cinema in dedicated spaces, as the IFB Lounge at Bernini Bristol Hotel, equipped with a 52” LCD screen, 7.1-channel JBL audio system, Blu-Ray DVD player, in collaboration with Desalia.
Professionals had also the chance to interact with all the creative e management tools for cinema provided by Roma Lazio Film Commission IFB. “We decided to call it ‘Boutique’ since we wanted to face a very hard market with a well-groomed selection”, commented to Cineuropa Paolo Luci, ASS.FOR.SEO President. “We dedicated an assistant to each buyer, since customer care has to come together with high quality productions. That’s what Made in Italy is known for”.
Among the titles presented in the Italian Film Boutique initiative, there are veteran filmmaker Pupi Avati‘s Golden Boy, with Riccardo Scamarcio and Sharone Stone (production: Duea Film, Comboproduzioni), Franco Maresco‘s black comedy Belluscone a Sicilian Story (Dream Film Ila Palma, Frenesy), Francesco Munzi‘s Venice competition film Black Souls (Cinema Undici), Oscar-winning director Gabriel Salvatores‘s Italy in Day (Indiana Production), Mario Martone‘s biopic Leopardi (Palomar), Edoardo Winspeare‘s Quiet Bliss, in Berlinale Official Selection 2014 (Saietta Film) and Rome IFF opener, Alessandro Genovesi‘s Soap Opera (Colorado Film, Medusa Film).
